This is a great buffet table centerpiece if you’re throwing a party, and contains everything that’s fantastic about pizza, but in dip form. Served with cheesy garlic breadsticks, it’s a real treat.

Ingredients

Garlic Cheese Breadsticks:

Directions

  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. Heat a 12-inch ovenproof skillet over medium heat, then add the olive oil. Let get hot, then add the sausage, onions, garlic and oregano. Cook until the sausage has browned and cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes. Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 to 2 more minutes, then stir in the marinara sauce. Bring to a simmer, then tear up and place the mozzarella on top.
  3. Broil, watching so it doesn’t burn, until lightly browned all over, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove and sprinkle over the parsley. Let sit for a few minutes before serving and digging in.

Garlic Cheese Breadsticks:

  1. Set a rack on the bottom of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan with the garlic and bring to a simmer. Brush the garlic butter over the bread, then lay slices of mozzarella on top and sprinkle with the parsley.
  3. Put the bread on a baking sheet and cook on the bottom rack until toasty, about 10 minutes.
